Car bomb: Early days but am thinking this is more Islamic terror

If this is truly the work of muslims, then they better start getting a hell of a lot tougher on them and start deporting all the trouble makers from this country.

Uhhhh my posts - posted after all - weird it said comment not posted :( sorry for spamming and I'm just north of Carnoustie. Actually in my town there are more and more foreign people coming every year especially Poles and it's hard to get used to all the different faces and languages, everyone used to know everyone..

2007-06-30 13:59:40 EST

Thats right, it was carnoustie wasn't it, remember now. I'm guessing you don't have too many Muslims round there. I understand your comments about wishing all would burn in hell, but I'm originally from South London and have always mixed with different religions etc. I know loads who will be disgusted by this, and are worried by the support these acts generate for the racist groups. Its a mixed up world at the moment....

2007-06-30 13:55:13 EST

I'm the East coast but this attack is still too close to home

2007-06-30 13:53:44 EST

Well The Eastern part of Scotland but this is a lot closer to home for me, it's actually quite scary I always knew they would try something up here sometime but I'm still shocked. They probly will hit a night club, especially since the 2 princes frequent them a lot as well.

2007-06-30 13:45:40 EST

What part of the country is yours nungy?

2007-06-30 13:37:59 EST

I think they will hit a night club within a couple of days, thought they may have got one last night. What I don't understand is that airport police are armed, so why didn't they shoot the twats?? They could have had time to detonate something, should have shot them.....

2007-06-30 13:33:27 EST

Well Zeus in the last few years after 911 I have turned from a socialist to a 'realist'- ie right of center and when stuff like this happens in my part of the country as well as UK as a whole I wish those muzzies would all burn in hell, sorry if that sounds racist or bigoted whatever, I've had all I can take from their selfishness, shouting and wanton terror.

2007-06-30 13:33:00 EST

Man! Someone really wants an attack on England today! Watching the news now!

2007-06-30 13:25:56 EST

Antonk, oldballs comment was based on the fact that it was a sloppy attempt. Even the sky news has said that due to the amateurish way the Glasgow attack was conducted, that it could be a disenfranchised couple and not part of a network. I hope its not an active cell as I don't want to see more professional attacks, but we'll find out in time. As for Britain becoming an Islamic state, lets not over react here. 94% of the UK are still true Brits. Already the 'fear' of immigration and minority rule has led to increases in support for BNP and EFP. This country will tragically become an extreme right wing state long before it becomes an Islamic state, which is bad news for the vast majority of British Muslims who are not only disgusted by these attacks but are often included in the casualties. I don't want to live in a racist country, but I'm sure thats where we're going....

I'm sorry, but it seems that FromBeyond is right on this one! The UK’s Muslim Public Affairs Committee (MPACUK) informs us that it’s Britain’s foreign policy that’s to blame, and if they don’t change it to be more in line with the Islamic agenda, they can expect more terrorist attacks, and rightly so!! See: http://www.mpacuk.org/content/view/3799/34/

2007-06-30 10:40:44 EST

Well I must say, there are a lot of single angry persons acting out in the British Isles these days, aren't there! Two "angry persons" setup car bombs yesterday, and today another "angry person" has rammed his car into the terminal at Glasgow airport.

Oldballs, there are a lot of angry people out there! Or perhaps FromBeyond is right, and we'd best hand over Europe to the Islamists so they can make it into the Caliphate they've, in any case, promised us is coming.

2007-06-30 08:47:39 EST

Actually Zeus you may be spot on there, that's a major possibility right enough. But there was an eyewitness account of an asian man running from the car so I don't know. It's early days like I said but my money is on home grown fanatics of Islam - we'll have to wait see for sure though

2007-06-30 08:45:58 EST

I just saw the news telling of the second car-bomb! They were lucky it didn't go off!

Fortunately they have idiots setting up the bombs!

2007-06-30 08:38:48 EST

I see it was two car bombs that were found. Could have been a 'David Copeland' type thing as its gay pride weekend in London. We'll have to wait and see.....

2007-06-30 04:38:24 EST

Right. What is this book of ancient fairytales? and these nutters?

Who was I thinking of again - damned memory of mine? ah yes the Mormons, wasn't it?

Ps I'm just a cynical atheist who finds all religion to be pure unadulterated nonsense, I'd rather believe in Santa Clause than Jesus etc. Point of the matter is that most of past atrocities have been committed in one Gods name or another.

2007-06-29 18:47:05 EST

Right. What is this book of ancient fairytales? and these nutters?

2007-06-29 18:35:22 EST

Greg Britain isn't the middle east, this is about another attempted attack on London - probably by home grown nutters who put a book of ancient fairytales before lives of innocent men, women and children. Their target should by rights be parliament who makes these heinous decisions of invading other countries and not the people who don't have a say. 'If' this is the work of muslims then it is going to strain all relations even more between 'us' and 'them'.

2007-06-29 17:48:29 EST

So you think it is about the Arab/Muslim world trying to take away our personal freedoms. Our presence in the Middle East going back more than a half a century has nothing to do with the terrorists?

Osama bin Laden himself has publicly stated that U.S. policy in Saudi Arabia is the reason for his fatwah declaration against the United States. Specifically, Bin Laden believes "There is no more important duty than pushing Americans out of the holy land [Saudi Arabia]. They have attacked Islam and its most significant, sacrosanct symbols. The country of the Two Holy Places has in our religion a peculiarity of its own." The United States maintains approximately 4000 troops on Saudi soil, home to two of Islam's most revered religious sites, Mecca and Medina, and the birthplace of Muhammad. The continued U.S. military presence in one of Islam's holiest of places is "religiously unacceptable to Saudis," says Said K. Aburish, a Palestinian-born journalist and author of Coming Fall of the House of Saud.

Bin Laden's second reason behind his fatwah declaration is "America's meddling in Saudi affairs and its politics, and supporting the oppressive, corrupt and tyrannical Saudi regime."

This is the problem, ladies and gentlemen: http://xxx.snapsoid.com/~Please_Eat_Me_from_Behind..._

As long as the West entertains itself with this kind of thing, we will experience an ever-greater frequency of attacks from those who see us as Infidels.

'nuff said...

2007-06-29 15:16:36 EST

So Anton, what do you believe is the root of the problem? Surely you have more than "grow up" or "stop spouting". If you don't, then it is time to inform yourself. Do some research. It is not simply because we are of different faiths.

2007-06-29 13:44:32 EST

FromBeyone: Look, what can I say to you, other than, grow up. I mean, you're either going to grow up on your own, or you're going to get mugged by reality...it's your choice.

2007-06-29 13:43:14 EST

The London police are refusing to speculate on who might have made

that Mercedes-bomb, so I will: I'm guessing it was made by old-line

Anglicans who want to bring back the Book of Common Prayer.

2007-06-29 13:27:49 EST

Well I'm off clubbing tonight with Ms Zeus, and you can be assured that after copious amounts of Stella Artois, Jamies and a nice Vindaloo, car bombs are the least of my concerns. Worrying is NOT how the British people survived the blitz....

BTW, this is from BBC news site, just to finish with the 'its not all muslims' line as I'll be out later and someone is sure to demonstrate a narrow minded bigoted view of British Muslims.

"....The Muslim Council of Britain, the largest organisation presenting Muslim groups in the UK, urged people to help the police find the perpetrators. Secretary-General Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari, said: "It is now a duty upon all the rest of us to help the police so that they can bring whoever was involved in this plot swiftly to justice".

2007-06-29 13:17:14 EST

Well Anton, why are they terrorizing us then? Just plain evil?

2007-06-29 12:44:08 EST

Antonk, 'angry person's' do strike London. Look at David Copeland.... I do hope this is a single act and not an Islamic related one. They don't half get a shit press in the UK....

2007-06-29 12:17:27 EST

Gregthebunny: Ah yes, the poor Middle East. Always getting f**ked around by someone, eh? Always someone else's fault, eh? Funny how the terrorists themselves rarely mention the "root causes" that you mention (unless they're playing to your ears). Geez, for them it goes way, way back to the Caliphate, Constantinople, etc.... Greg, you're going to have to stop spouting your old, tired, Leftist scripts sooner or later. How about now?

2007-06-29 11:57:49 EST

Anton, you are correct. It's not about a president. The terrorists won't stop till we quit fucking with the Middle east. The CIA overthrew a democracy in Iran on behalf of British Petroleum in 1953. That worked out so well, we keep our imperialistic policies intact.

2007-06-29 11:01:58 EST

Sorry oldballs, there's ZERO chance that this was a random act, or the act of an "angry person" What silliness.

2007-06-29 10:15:19 EST

One of the great delusions of our time is that once Blair, in the UK case, and Bush, in the American one, stepped down from office the terrorist threat would disappear. The news that a car bomb attack was foiled in London last night illustrates just how wrong this belief was. Although, the fact that the vast bulk of planning for the 9/11 attacks was done during the Clinton presidency should have shown people how wrong-headed this idea was in the first place.
